THE DEPARTMENT of Education on Friday said it prefers to have all students who will participate in face-to-face classes vaccinated against Covid19.

Expanded in-person classes will start in February.

At the Laging Handa public briefing, Education Undersecretary Nepomuceno Malaluan said that the inoculation of children is based on their agreement with the Department of Health.

“Kasama doon sa ating expanded phase ay ang agreement natin ng Department of Health at ang vaccination of all our learners is preferred,” he said.

Malaluan said that the government committed to prioritize the vaccination of young children.

The pilot rollout of the vaccination of children aged five to 11 will start on February 4. There are around 14 million students in basic education who belong to this age group.
