This initiative is part of the “SEC Communication, Advocacy, and Network” project.
Education Secretary Sonny Angara and SEC Chairperson Emilio Aquino signed the memorandum of agreement on Wednesday, reaffirming the agencies’ commitment to promoting sustainable and inclusive economic growth and investor protection.
“The project mainly involves collaborative activities designed to enhance financial literacy and investor protection among Filipinos, both locally and abroad,” the MOA states.
Under the agreement, there will be joint programs, activities, and interventions through the SEC Capital Market Promotion and Awareness Inter-Agency Network. These efforts will focus on equipping Filipinos with the knowledge and skills to understand financial principles and practices, as well as to avoid becoming victims of investment fraud.
