EDUCATION Secretary Leonor Briones denounced the criticisms hurled at her department over the problems seen during the opening of classes, saying the cursing that she received was uncalled for.

“May mga statement, may mga mura, sa buong buhay ko, hindi pa ako namura ng ‘P of the I’. Imagine at my age ‘P of the I’ kuno ako and see you in hell. Mga ganyang klase ng lenggwahe which emphasizes the fact that we really need to educate our learners and the adults,” Briones lamented.

She admitted that there were problems during the dry runs and when classes opened on October 5 but these were addressed by the Education department.

Briones added that the photo of teachers who went up the roof of their school reportedly to get stronger internet signals was staged.

The Education chief called for honesty as she noted that there were a lot of photos circulated on the internet showing the problems faced by students and teachers on blended learning.

“Maraming mga pictures na ganyan naglalabasan. In your profession, in my profession, we advocate honesty and we look for honesty from people in government or even the ordinary citizens, we also expect honesty among ourselves,” Briones said.
