DEPED RECORDS OVER 17.9 MILLION ENROLLEES

WITH less than two weeks before the opening of classes, the Department of Education said that more than 17.9 million have registered for School Year 2022-2023.

As of Tuesday, August 9, 17,900,833 students have enrolled for the incoming school year.

Of this number, 1,186,012 were enrolled in Kindergarten, 8,235 in elementary, 5,789,747 in Junior High School and 2,689,137 in Senior High School.

Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) had the highest number of enrollees with 2,604,227 followed by Central Luzon at 2,046,017 and National Capital Region with 2,020,134.

The Cordillera Administrative Region had the lowest with 232,001.

“Magpapatuloy ang enrollment hanggang sa Agosto 22, 2022. Tandaan na mayroon tayong tatlong pamamaraan sa pagpapatala: in-person, remote, at dropbox enrollment,” DepEd said.

“Dagdag pa rito, ang ating mga Alternative Learning System (ALS) learners ay maaari na ring magpatala nang in-person o digital,” it added.

The Education department targets 28.6 million basic education enrollees for this school year, over a million students more than the previous school year.

Classes in public schools will start on August 22.
