THE DEPARTMENT of Education said that at least 9.1 million students have registered for School Year 2022-2023.

As of Friday, July 29, 9,192,331 students have signed up for the incoming school year.

Of this number, 608,114 were enrolled in Kindergarten, 4,279,600 in elementary, 2,965,068 in Junior High School and 1,339,519 in Senior High School.

Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) had the highest number of enrollees with 1,596,668, followed by the National Capital Region at 1,389,331 and Central Luzon with 963,494.

The Cordillera Administrative Region had the lowest — 41,236.

The DepEd is targeting 28.6 million basic education enrollees for this school year, over a million students more than the previous school year.

The enrollment will end on August 22.
