EDUCATION Secretary Leonor Briones said that the agency can again implement distance learning if Covid19 cases continue to increase.

“Ready naman tayong bumalik agad agad sa distance learning kasi nandiyan na ‘yan eh,” she said.

She stressed that distance learning is not new, since it has been used long before the pandemic started.

“It has always been there for the past how many decades, bata pa ako may distance learning na. It’s just that when the pandemic burst upon us, doon tayo nag-focus sa distance learning and the various modalities for distance learning pero nandiyan lang palagi ‘yan,” Briones said.

“Maraming mga prominent people nakatapos sa pag-aaral through distance learning especially at the graduate level at advanced level, usong-uso ‘yung distance learning,” she added.

However, she admitted that face-to-face classes had “value,” especially to young children who also learn to socialize during in-person classes.
