DEPED OFFICIALS AND PERSONNEL ATTEND NATIONAL ASSEMBLY OF EDUCATION LEADERS

OVER 4,000 officials and personnel of the Department of Education gathered for the 4th National Assembly of Education Leaders from August 21 to 22.

The event aimed to improve the skills of education leaders by providing various trainings to increase the level of education in the country.

Among the topics tackled were Reimagining Leadership in the Age of AI, Developing a Growth Mindset for Education Leaders, EDCOM 2 initiatives, and Bringing Back the Lost Art of Filipino Leadership.

The speakers were National Teachers College Vice President for Academic Affairs Edizon Fermin, DepEd Undersecretary Gina Gonong, Assistant Secretary Alma Ruby Torio, Undersecretaries Annalyn Sevilla, Gloria Mercado and Revsee Escobedo, corporate educator Boris Joaquin, women leaders Doris Ferrer, Sandy Sanchez-Montano, Pacita Juan, and Maricelle Nain, and motivational speaker Lloyd Luna.

The event, held at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City, had the theme “Embracing the MATATAG Agenda with Integrity, Competence and Diligence.”

It was organized by the Association of DepEd Directors, Inc. to deepen participants’ knowledge of the MATATAG Agenda and strengthen their leadership capacity for its implementation.
