EDUCATION Secretary Sonny Angara recently engaged with leaders from international institutions to establish key partnerships aimed at enhancing education in the Philippines.

On Wednesday (16 Oct 2024), Angara met with Millersville University of Pennsylvania’s delegation, led by President Dr. Daniel A. Wubah, and Thames International President Joel Santos. According to DepEd, the discussions focused on forming strategic collaborations to strengthen the country’s educational system.

Topics included strategies for Disaster Risk Reduction Management, capacity building for guidance counselors, and initiatives for teacher upskilling.

The meeting was also attended by Dr. Marc Harris, Dean of the School of Technology, and Dr. Sepi Yalda, a disaster risk expert, along with DepEd officials Usec. Willy Cabral, Asec. Georgina Yang, and Asec. Malcolm Garma.

Millersville University is one of the 14 institutions under the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education.
