THE DEPARTMENT of Education is closely coordinating with the Department of Public Works and Highways to ensure the safe resumption of face-to-face classes, an official said.

“There will be an inter-agency coordination. Tulad na rin ng sabi ng Pangulo sa SONA, we will be coordinating closely with DPWH to ensure na ready ang ating mga paaralan, mga eskwela lalo na sa imprastraktura,” DepEd spokesperson Atty. Michael Tan Poa said.

He said that the DPWH will be the DepEd’s partner in the construction of more classrooms as mentioned by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. in his State of the Nation Address.

“The condition and availability of school rooms for our students must also be addressed, again, in coordination with the Department Public Works and Highways,” Marcos said.

Poa confirmed that preparations have been  made for the resumption of face-to-face classes.

School Year 2022-2023 will begin on August 22 and will end on July 7, 2023.

The DepEd has ordered that the full implementation of in-person classes will start on November 2.
