NAKA-LOCKDOWN simula kahapon ang central office ng Department of Education sa Pasig City matapos na magpositibo sa Covid19 ang ilang kawani nito.

Ayon kay Education Undersecretary for Administration at Chairperson ng DepEd Task Force Covid19 Alain Del Pascua, inirekomenda niya kay Education Secretary Leonor Briones na i-lockdown ang buong DepEd central office complex mula Huwebes, Marso 18, hanggang Myerkoles, Marso 24.

“The DepEd Task Force Covid19 is hereby recommending the lockdown of the entire DepEd central office complex for seven days from 18 to 24 March 2021,” sabi ni Pascua.

Ayon sa opisyal, may anim na kumpirmadong may Covid19 ang pisikal na nag-report sa central office nitong nakalipas na 14 na araw.

Ang limang kaso (tatlong babae, dalawang lalaki) ay nagpa-test noong Marso 17 bilang bahagi ng requirements ng LGU para sa kanilang official travel sa Central Visayas at polisiya ng Office of the Undersecretary for Administration na ma-test muna bago magpunta sa isang event.

Ang resulta ng swab test ay inilabas kahapon ng umaga. Ang pagsusuri ay isinagawa sa central office noong Marso 17, kung saan ang nasabing mga kaso, na pawang asymptomatic, ay nag-report sa kanilang trabaho para sa iba pang preparatory activities na may kinalaman sa kanilang paglalakbay. Isang lalaki ang nagpositibo rin sa naturang sakit noong Marso 15 at nag-report sa araw na iyon sa central office.

Samantala, sinabi ni Pascua na lahat ng empleyado, maliban sa mga miyembro ng central office clinic at ibang staff na kinakailangang pisikal na mag-report para sa medical at emergency response activities ng ahensiya, ay magtatrabaho na lang muna sa kanilang mga tahanan at hindi puwedeng lumabas ng bahay.

“Leaving one’s home while the DepEd central office complex is on a lockdown will forfeit the purpose of the lockdown which is to restrict movement among personnel and to prevent the possibility of their being exposed to or they’re exposing others to the virus,”sabi ni Pascua.

“Exempted from the lockdown are those whose physical reporting to their respective stations is essential to ensure the continuous and smooth delivery of necessary medical and other health-related services and the urgent provision of any emergency response to personnel concerned, the required monitoring of the situation, and the uninterrupted reporting to the ExeCom of concerns requiring immediate action,” dagdag pa ni Pascua.
