CEBU 3rd District Rep. Pablo John Garcia filed a measure that seeks to convert the Toledo City Science High School into a national science high school.

Under House Bill 9312, the TCSHS will become Toledo City National Science High School.

The bill will mandate the secretary of Education to include in its program the operationalization of the Toledo City National Science High School.

Garcia said the nationalization of the institution will provide continued support to the advancement of secondary education in the city and neighboring municipalities in the third district of Cebu.

He added that the bill will supplement the growing demand for quality secondary education in the area.

“The nationalization of this institution will also strengthen the stature of Toledo City as Cebu’s center of economic power in the western part of the province,” Garcia said in his explanatory note.
