COCOPEA TO STUDENTS AND SCHOOL PERSONNEL: GET VACCINATED

/ 13 January 2022

THE COORDINATING Council of Private Educational Associations of the Philippines urged students, teachers and school personnel to get vaccinated while classes are suspended.

Universities and private schools cancelled classes because some teachers and students tested positive for Covid19 or had flu-like symptoms.

COCOPEA Managing Director Joseph Noel Estrada said increasing the vaccination rate will help protect people from the virus.

“We have to focus more on vaccination, including the younger kids,” he said.

Estrada added that schools can be used as vaccination sites. Priority should be given to students, teachers and school personnel.

He lamented that lately, more families have been hit by Covid-19.

“Whether it’s the parents or the children, siyempre mag-a-isolate kayo. And then parents would have to be looking after their kids. And iyong kids, lalo na kung sila iyong affected, they cannot go to school,” he said.
