SENATOR Francis Tolentino on Saturday confirmed that the Commission on Higher Education promised to give out scholarships for medalists of the first-ever Philippine ROTC Games.

“May mga pakikipag-usap sa Commission on Higher Education na maglaan ng ROTC Sports Scholarship lalong-lalo na sa mga nakakuha ng gold para makapagpatuloy sa kolehiyo,” Tolentino said.

“Hindi dapat maging hadlang sa pag-aaral nila ang kahirapan,” he added.

The senator lauded the successful holding of the PRG whose goal was to raise awareness of the ROTC program. The ROTC games wrapped up after a two-month run.

He said that public interest on ROTC has been elevated.

“Hindi mandatory pero buhay pa ang ROTC,” Tolentino said.
