CHED RELEASES UNIFAST FUNDS OF CAGAYAN STATE U

/ 17 December 2021

THE COMMISSION on Higher Education has released the educational funds for the Cagayan State University for Academic Year 2020-2021.

“The UNIFAST funds withheld by CHED have now been released. We sincerely thank the people who have bravely signed our series of petitions to CHED – the CSU Board of Regents, University and Campus officials, faculty members, Admin staff, COS providers, students, parents, and other stakeholders. God will never forsake us.

Salamat sa Panginoon! Salamat sa inyong lahat!” CSU President Dr. Urduja Tejada said.

The University Student Council Federation earlier said that CHED has not released CSU’s Unified Student Financial Assistance System for Tertiary Education budget for two terms amounting to P157,933,170.

The state university said some programs, projects, and activities of student organizations were stopped for lack of funds.

CHED chief Prospero de Vera III earlier denied allegations that he was withholding the funds as a leverage not to recognize the appointment of Tejada as the university president.

He clarified that the UNIFAST executive director contacted the CSU BOR asking them if the funds can be moved through the CHED Regional Office instead of releasing it to the university president so it can be used by the university.
