THE COMMISSION on Higher Education recognized the Mariano Marcos State University for placing second in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings.

MMSU and the De La Salle University tied for the second spot behind the Ateneo De Manila University.

MMSU is the only state university in the country that placed high in the rankings.

The recent ranking also placed MMSU in the 401-600 bracket in the whole world.

Because of this, MMSU President Shirley C. Agrupis received a Plaque of Recognition from CHED Regional Director Danilo Bose during the kickoff of the 28th CHED Anniversary and 2nd Higher Education Day in Bacnotan, La Union.

The university president said that she hopes that the relationship among SUCs will be that of cooperation instead of competition.

“We should all uplift each other, and those who are ahead should mentor others, so we can have a multiplier effect,” she said.

Agrupis was joined by MMSU academic affairs vice president Prima Fe R. Franco and other university officials.
