THE COMMISSION on Higher Education conferred the Quality Excellence Award on De La Salle University in recognition of its 14 programs that were designated as Centers of Excellence.

CHED said the recognition was given for the school’s “valuable contributions in uplifting and sustaining quality and excellence in higher education in their respective programs, disciplines and areas of responsibility.”

The university has the distinction of having the highest number of Centers of Excellence among private higher education institutions.

These are Accountancy, Biology, Business Administration, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Entrepreneurship, Industrial Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Teacher Education.

The awarding ceremony was held on May 18 during the commemoration of the 28th founding anniversary of CHED.

CHED conferred the same award on the University of Santo Tomas for reaping recognition for its 13 programs as Centers of Excellence.

Nine other higher education institutions also received the award.
