COMMISSION on Higher Education Chairman Prospero De Vera III urged college students in Negros Occidental to get their Covid19 booster shot to protect themselves from the virus.

“I am asking everyone to please get your booster shots. It is the best investment that you can make not for yourselves, but for your family, for your friends and classmates and everyone around you,” he told the students of Bacolod City College and University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos.

School-based vaccinations are being conducted to easily monitor those who have received the vaccine.

“The schools can report their vaccination to the CHED every week. We can monitor the percentage going up,” De Vera added.

Almost 90 percent of the faculty members and 77 percent of students in tertiary schools have been vaccinated against Covid19.

“That is because everyone helped to get vaccinated. That is why in November 2021, I issued a directive that all schools can already hold face-to-face classes. The level of confidence is increasing as more people get vaccinated,” the CHED official said.
