AROUND 500 senior high school students from Young Achievers Senior High School in Barangay 171 participated in an active shooter response lecture and simulation exercise conducted by the Caloocan City Police Station.

The community engagement activity, organized by the police station’s Community Affairs Section, aimed to equip students with practical knowledge and life-saving skills on how to respond effectively during an active shooter incident.

Personnel from the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Unit, Women and Children Protection Desk, Community Affairs Section, and Sub-Station 9 facilitated the lecture and hands-on simulation, allowing participants to apply emergency response procedures in a controlled environment.

The activity was conducted under the leadership of Caloocan City Police Chief PCOL Joey Goforth and the supervision of PLT Ma. Gracia Balderas, officer-in-charge of the Community Affairs Section.

The police said the program helped enhance students’ awareness, preparedness, and confidence in responding to potential security threats while promoting a culture of safety and vigilance within the school community.

The initiative also strengthened the partnership between the Caloocan City Police Station and the education sector by fostering cooperation, trust, preparedness, and positive engagement among police officers, school officials, faculty members, students, and other stakeholders.
