CALOOCAN LAUNCHES YOUTH SPORTS CAMP

/ 10 August 2022

THE CITY government of Caloocan, through the Sports Development and Recreation Office, launched a free sports camp to train and develop the youth’s skills in basketball, chess, swimming, futsal, karate and taekwondo.

SDRO Chief Dindo Simpa said the activity is in line with Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan’s advocacy to make the youth more active.

“This is Mayor Along’s way to give a sense of normalcy to our youth in Caloocan who have been quarantined inside their homes due to the restrictions implemented during the height of the pandemic. Sa ganitong pamamaraan po, umaasa ang lokal na pamahalaan na magiging mas aktibo ang mga kabataan and eventually, baka maka-discover pa tayo ng mga Olympians,” the Sports Chief said.

In a Facebook post, Malapitan encouraged parents to enlist their children to help them learn new skills, meet new people and have fun at the same time.

“Malugod pong inihahandog ng pamahalaang lungsod ang libreng sports camp para sa mga kabataan. Sa mga magulang, sana’y i-guide niyo ang inyong mga anak para magparehistro nang sila’y may matutunan, makakilala ng kapwa nila kabataan at mag-enjoy sa mga aktibidad na hatid ng programang ito,” the Mayor said.

The registration for the sports camp is still ongoing and can be accessed thru the link: bit.ly/CaloocanSports.
