BJMP DEPLOYS OVER 1,000 PERSONNEL TO HELP IN BRIDAGA ESKWELA

/ 15 August 2022

THE BUREAU of Jail Management and Penology has deployed 1,000 personnel to help in the conduct of Brigada Eskwela in schools.

In a statement, BJMP chief Allan Iral said the agency’s personnel assisted the Department of Education in school repairs and cleanup activities for the opening of classes on August 22.

“Our personnel volunteered their time including a number of school materials in support to our educator’s efforts to create a more conducive learning environment for students amid the pandemic,” Iral said.

He added that the BJMP always supports the conduct of Brigada Eskwela every year.

“We are one with the DepEd in this annual advocacy since we are also a beneficiary of the Alternative Learning System program wherein thousands of persons deprived of liberty under our care have completed their basic education,” he said.

Interior Secretary Benjamin Abalos Jr. earlier directed all agencies under his department to assist in the Brigada Eskwela.

Brigada Eskwela seeks to prepare public schools for the start of classes, with volunteers cleaning, repainting and making required repairs.
