BICOL POLICEMEN EDUCATE KIDS ABOUT THEIR RIGHTS

/ 16 September 2021

MEMBERS of the Catanduanes Police in the Bicol Region intensified their campaign in educating children on how to protect themselves against abuses and fight for their rights.

As part of the Virtual Bisita Eskwela, personnel from the Catanduanes 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company conducted an information drive about rape for select children of Barangay Timbaan in San Andres on September 11.

During the activity, police officers discussed how children could protect themselves and the importance of trusting the police in fighting for their rights and its readiness to assist them.

Philippine National Police chief Guillermo Eleazar hailed the policemen’s initiative, saying that it is important to keep children well-informed.

“Maganda na sa murang kaisipan pa lamang, malaman na ng mga bata ang kanilang mga karapatan at matatak na sa kanilang pag-iisip na ang kapulisan ay handa na bigyan sila ng proteksiyon sa anumang pagkakataon,” Eleazar said.

“I appreciate the efforts of our personnel from the Catanduanes 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company on their initiative of reaching out to children in order for them to realize that policemen are not enemies but friends who are always ready to protect and defend them,” he added.
