ARMY STARTS TRAINING AND DOCTRINE COMMAND FOR 2,000 STUDENTS

/ 9 September 2022

THE PHILIPPINE Army held its third cycle of Training and Doctrine Command for around 2,200 students through a physical and virtual joint opening ceremony at Camp O’Donnell in Capas, Tarlac on September 5, 2022.

Maj. Gen. Francisco Ariel A. Felicidario III, Commander of the Special Operations Command of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, was the guest of honor and speaker.

Maj. Gen. Felicidario, in his keynote speech,
encouraged students to apply the knowledge and skills they gained in TRADOC once they report back to their respective units.

“Training allows every soldier to acquire the needed knowledge, skills, abilities, and attitudes necessary to perform and complete specific tasks,” he said.

Around 2,200 students enrolled in 81 career and specialization courses offered by TRADOC and its organic and extension schools, including Division Training Schools.

The offering of service courses in various DTS is in accordance with the medium-term force structure of the Philippine Army wherein the Infantry Divisions will focus on their core functions and operational campaign.

It is also in line with the priority of Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Romeo Brawner Jr. to enhance soldiers’ skills and capabilities.

“We shall pursue education and training programs that will constantly improve the preparedness and combat effectiveness of our forces,” the Army chief said.
