THE COMMISSION on Higher Education said that about 30 percent of college students have been vaccinated against Covid19.

CHED Chairman Prospero De Vera III said more than one million learners have received at least one dose.

“Higher education institutions are already doing school-based vaccination since October 15, 2021. We are targeting November and December as vaccination months for higher education students,” De Vera said.

Earlier, the CHED chief noted that the commission hopes to vaccinate at least 80 percent of tertiary students by the end of November.

To increase the vaccination turnout in academic community, De Vera urged higher education institutions to properly coordinate with their local government units.

He said that officials are aggressively pushing for the vaccination of all employees and students in HEIs to add another layer of protection during in-person classes.

The commission has allowed limited physical classes in all degree programs up to 50 percent capacity in areas under Alert Level 2 on condition that students, faculty, and employees are vaccinated; facilities are retrofitted and the local government units allow it.
