22,000 DAYCARE KIDS IN MANILA TO GET FREE MEALS FOR 180 DAYS

/ 16 October 2026

AROUND 22,000 daycare children in Manila will receive nutritious meals for 180 days under the 16th cycle of the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Supplementary Feeding Program, in partnership with the city government.

Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko” Moreno Domagoso led the launch of the program, which will benefit children aged two to four years and 11 months enrolled in Child Development Centers across the city.

Domagoso assured parents that the initiative aims to ensure that no child goes hungry while attending daycare, providing nutritious meals to support their growth and development.

The meals will include vegetables, eggs, chicken, and other food items suited to the nutritional needs of young children.

Under the program, beneficiaries will receive hot meals for 120 days and ready-to-eat meals for the remaining 60 days.

Feeding activities will be conducted daily, including Saturdays and Sundays, at participating daycare centers.

The program is being implemented by the DSWD in coordination with the Manila Department of Social Welfare as part of efforts to improve children’s nutrition and support their early development.
