DAVAO City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio on Saturday formalized her bid for the second highest seat in the country under the Lakas-CMD party.

Lawyer Reynold Munsayac filed Duterte-Carpio’s Certificate of Candidacy just two days before the deadline for the substitution of election aspirants on November 15.

Sara substituted Lyle Uy, the party’s original vice presidential candidate.

The presidential daughter earlier withdrew her CoC for her third and final term as Davao City mayor last November 9.

She resigned from her regional party Hugpong ng Pagbabago two days later, and then took her oath as member of the Lakas-CMD before House Majority Leader Martin Romualdez, who is also the party president.

Meanwhile, the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas decided to adopt Duterte-Carpio as running mate of presidential aspirant Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. in next year’s elections.

Lakas-CMD Senator Bong Revilla said the party is in the process of formalizing the adoption of a standard-bearer who Inday Sara will be running with as her president.

“Abangan po natin ang Dream Tandem na aakay sa bansa tungo sa hinahangad nating pagbangon mula sa pandemya at tuloy-tuloy na progreso,” Revilla said.
