UNITEAM senatorial candidate Gibo Teodoro said that the government should increase the budget for the education sector to resolve problems such as lack of classrooms.

The former Defense secretary also pushed for a closer examination of the learning materials to ensure that the information they contain is relevant, particularly for future jobs.

“I would like to examine and take a deeper look into what is being taught and how it is being taught at all levels,” Teodoro said.

He added that the government would be able to address the demand of teachers for higher pay if the education department had a bigger allocation.

With a bigger budget, the department will also be able to build more classrooms to resolve congestion, Teodoro said.
