“Because of this difference in perspective and perception, the morale of the Comelec is fairly good,” sabi ni Jimenez sa isang virtual press conference Huwebes ng hapon.

“I think the characterization of all these is a crisis something that we would hear outside the Comelec, but inside the Comelec, it’s really about just doing the work. Inside the Comelec people understand what’s going on, they understand what the demands on each commissioner are, and what the difficulties each commissioner would face when we talk about things like promulgating decisions or coming up these decisions,” dagdag pa niya.

“One particular thing of note is of course that if you remember Commissioner Ferolino adverted to some of her staff getting Covid. We do feel the effect of Covid and we see how works slow down because of Covid,” ani Jimenez.

“So, for people in the Comelec that’s something easy to understand. People tend to think of things, ah nagkasakit ng Covid that’s not an excuse. You know there can be no excuses and these are absolutes the people talk about when dealing with things that are not within their normal experience,” dagdag pa niya.

“Dito sa Comelec, we see this all the time and we understand that there are delays that happened. We also understand that we do not throw the work delay around likely.”

“When you talk about delay kasi what you’re saying is that you’re missing a deadline but if there is no deadline to speak of, then you’re more careful about saying whether this is a delay or this is taking time, etc,” sabi pa niya.
