ONE Cebu is “seriously considering” endorsing the presidential bid of Manila Mayor Francisco ‘Isko Moreno’ Domagoso, according to Cebu 3rd District Rep. Pablo John Garcia.

“Of course, he is one of those who will be seriously considered by One Cebu to be the presidential candidate of One Cebu. We’re seriously, seriously considering Mayor Isko,” Garcia said in a news briefing in Moalboal, Cebu.

One Cebu, a local political party led by Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia, is expected to announce its official endorsements for national candidates on November 15.

Garcia said Domagoso was the first presidentiable to consult different sectors and build solutions with ordinary people.

“As I said in Barili and Dumanjug, I think he’s the first presidentiable who really took the time to go to the sectors who were really hit by the pandemic, to really hear the real stories, to come up with appropriate solutions,” he said.

The lawmaker also noted similarities between Domagoso’s economic priorities and the programs of Cebu’s provincial government.

“’Yung programa niya sa MSMEs and tourism, I think really tugma sa priorities ng One Cebu and ni Governor Gwen Garcia. Immediately, when the pandemic hit, ‘yung inuna ni Governor Gwen was really to balance lives and livelihood life and livelihood, ‘di puwede magtago na lang ‘to palagi,” Garcia explained.

“Binuksan ‘yung turismo, even to local tourists lang muna, then may program siya sa MSMEs. I think great minds, you know, think alike, Mayor Isko and Governor Gwen,” he added.
