WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY INAUGURATES NEW INSTITUTE
THE WESLEYAN University Philippines inaugurated its new Carolina L. Gozon Institute for Lifelong Learning, a tribute to GMA Network Chairman and CEO Atty. Felipe Gozon’s mother.
The inauguration was led by WUP President Judge Benjamin D. Turgano along with OIC-Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. John Mark F. Bondoc, Gozon Institute Director Christian Jan Fausto and European Union Delegation to the Republic of the Philippines Deputy Head of Delegation Dr. Ana Sanchez Ruiz.
During the event, some members of the Gozon family expressed their gratitude to WUP for this honor.
“At one point in her life, nakilala niya ang Diyos nang lubusan and that, to my Wesleyan family, is the woman you are honoring. It is not a woman of great achievements; she is a woman of great faith,” Butch Jimenez, Gozon’s grandson said.
The institute will function as an applied knowledge hub for continuing education, as well as the focal point of WUP’s public service and social accountability thrusts.
It also aspires to open up new pathways for education and skills training, particularly for disadvantaged Filipinos who will face more challenges in the post-Covid19 recovery period.
