VISAYAS STATE U GRADUATE GETS HIGHEST BOARD EXAM RECORD
A GRADUATE of the Visayas State University set a new record after garnering the highest score in the mechanical engineering board exam.
Engr. Mark Anthony S. Arcayan got a 96.60 passing rate in the examinations held last February.
Arcayan got a score of 100 in industrial and power plant engineering, 98 percent in Mathematics, Engineering Economics, and Basic Engineering Science, and 91 percent in Machine design, materials, and shop practice.
Asked how he did it, he said that consistency, balance, and faith were the key to his success in the exam.
“A month before the exam, I was consistent at managing my time to read formulas, elements, and solving equations. And this part for me was the hardest given that there’s a lot of distractions from video games down to social media,” Arcayan said.
“I really tried hard to discipline myself. Intelligence by itself is insufficient as you really need consistency if you want to make it to the top,” he added.
12 other VSU graduates also passed the exam.
