THE VISAYAS State University was given a Level 4 accreditation by the Accredited Agency for Chartered Colleges and Universities of the Philippines, the first school in Visayas and Mindanao to get the distinction.

The AACCUP said that VSU passed “with flying colors.”

The university’s scores have yet to be published.

Dr. Charlito P. Cadag, the president of the Camarines Sur Polytechnic College, AACCUP accreditor of VSU, said that the application of the university was approved during a Board of Trustees meeting on Monday.

VSU was evaluated by AACCUP in the areas of governance and management; teaching, learning, and evaluation; faculty and staff; research; extension, consultancy, and linkages; support to students; library; infrastructure and other learning resources; and quality assurance culture.

The university was first evaluated in 2010. It got its Level 3 accreditation in 2017.

It was also named the top-performing institution in 2021 after getting 29 programs with Level 4 accreditation in both graduate and undergraduate levels.
