USTP INKS PACT WITH PNP

THE UNIVERSITY of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines has signed a pact with the Philippine National Police in Region 10 to help assess the public perception of the police.

USTP will serve as PNP’s 3rd party surveyor to gauge the public’s perception on public safety and security. Its findings will be used as basis to improve crime prevention and safety.

The signing of a Memorandum of Agreement was led by Dr. Ambrosio B. Cultura II, USTP System president, and Police Brigadier General Benjamin C. Acorda, Jr., PNP Region 10 director in Camp 1Lt Vicente G. Alagar in Cagayan de Oro City.

The university said that its Center for Inclusive Development Studies will be tapped for development planners, implementers, and policymakers that will be focused on the poor.

“This collaboration between USTP CIDS and PNP Region X is a manifestation of the university’s commitment to seek improvement, further serve the community the utmost best, and maintain peace and order in the region,” USTP said.
