UST STUDENTS WIN IN NATIONAL COMPETITIONS

A GROUP of third-year BS Accountancy students from the University of Santo Tomas was hailed champions in the first EXCEED 2021 Business Case Competition organized by the De La Salle University.

Randel Christian Amora, Charlene Mae Jusi, and Ma. Carmella Valdez stood out in the elimination and semi-final rounds with their presentation, “Reshaping Business Dynamics, Catalyzing Post-Pandemic Nation-Building.”

“In the final round, the participating teams were tasked to come up with a business proposal comprising an Industry Analysis, Company Analysis, Strategy Analysis, Alternative Courses of Action and Big Idea. The teams were given two hours to craft their written proposal and another 45 minutes to prepare for the oral presentation,” UST said.

The team also bagged all the special awards including the Best Written Proposal and Best Oral Presentation.

BCC is one of EXCEED 2021’s three accounting challenges. It aims to test the participating teams’ skills and abilities in different strategic areas of business.

Meanwhile, UST’s BS Tourism Management students also won awards in the 2021 Union of Filipino Tourism Educators Annual National Students Congress and Skills Competition.

Floresca May Martin and Ruby Gayle Balite were declared champions in the Flight Attendant Showmanship contest.

They were coached by Theresa Resurreccion and Jeanne Bianca Abad.

On the other hand, Allyssa Nicole Fajardo and Yaira Wren Sophia Laboy placed fourth in the Travel Commercial Competition.

They were coached by Arnulfo Ricardo Butiong.
