UST CONSIDERS RETURN OF ADMISSION EXAM

/ 29 July 2022

AFTER two years of suspending its admission examination, the University of Santo Tomas is considering conducting its Entrance Test or USTET for Academic Year 2023-2024.

The school’s publication The Varsitarian said the Office for Admissions is planning to conduct entrance exams again.

OFAD Director Assoc. Prof. Imelda Dakis was quoted as saying that “nothing is definite at the moment, but there is already a plan for the resumption of the USTET.”

“The University is targeting to open applications for the next A.Y. by August 2022,” Dakis added.

UST cancelled its college entrance test for A.Y. 2021-2022 and A.Y. 2022-2023 to minimize the risk of Covid19 transmission among applicants and employees.

For two consecutive years, the admission process was through the University of Santo Tomas Admission Rating.

Applicants were assessed based on a number of parameters derived largely from their academic performance and record.

In some programs, a second screening was added, which could be in the form of an interview, essay or online drawing exam.
