USM PROF NAMED CHIEF OF PRC’S BOARD OF AGRICULTURE

A PROFESSOR of the University of Southern Mindanao was appointed as the chairperson of the Philippine Regulation Commission’s Board of Agriculture.

Agricultural Scientist and Professor Emeritus Dr. Emma K. Sales was nominated by the Philippine Association of Agriculturists.

A renowned researcher, Sales has received local and international recognition for her work in the field of agriculture.

She finished her bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate degree from the University of the Philippines Los Baños.

“I believe that by God’s grace and guidance, I, together with the other members of the Board, can do our very best to make positive contributions in the promotion and the advancement of the thrust and priorities of the Agriculture profession in the country,” Sales said.

“I can assure you of my commitment, integrity, and honesty in the performance of my responsibilities,” she added.

The professor served as vice president for Research and Extension of USM, an adjunct professor in UPLB, director of the USM CHED Higher Education Regional Research Center, and chairperson of USM’s Institutional Biosafety Committee Institutional Biosafety Committee.
