A PROFESSOR from the University of San Carlos in Cebu City has been named the 2024 Outstanding Professional of the Year in Guidance and Counseling by the Professional Regulatory Commission.

Dr. Luzlin P. Elcullada, USC Counseling and Development Center Head, was recognized for her exceptional achievements, dedicated service, and significant contributions to the field of Guidance and Counseling.

“In May 2022, Dr. Elucallada was also honored as the Outstanding Counselor of the Year by the Philippine Guidance and Counseling Association, Inc. during the 57th Annual National Conference and International Conference,” USC said.

“With over 29 years of experience and 27 years of dedicated service to the University of San Carlos, Dr. Elcullada views her role as a counselor not just as a profession but as a divine vocation. She believes that answering this call has opened the door to many blessings,” it added.

The award recognizes the achievement and service of professionals who excel in their respective fields.

PRC Commissioner Edwin Enad, overall chairperson for the 2024 PRC Awards, said that nominees are evaluated based on their academic achievements, professional participation, significant contributions to their field, and impact on the community.
