/ 26 February 2021

THE PIONEER batch of students who took the BS Public Health program in the University of the Philippines-Visayas donated P57,000 to the Division of Biological Sciences for the repair of its laboratory.

The group said the project aims to support the learning process and the mentoring that they themselves received as students.

The BSPH program is handled by the Division of Biological Sciences under the College of Arts and Sciences.

Razeljoy Quirante, who represented the BSPH pioneer batch, turned over the cash to DBS Chairman Dr. Wilfredo Campos, CAS Associate Dean Dr. Alice Ferrer, Prof. Nilo Araneta, and former CAS Dean Prof. Ma. Severa Fe Katalbas on February 22, 2021.

“The funds will be spent for the materials for the repair of the PH laboratory, estimated to be around P32,000, while the rest of the money will be spent on installing the white board, and buying a smart TV for the laboratory,” the university said.

The BSPH program started in 1998.
