UP PROCESSING OVER 100,000 APPLICANTS

/ 21 March 2022

THE UNIVERSITY of the Philippines said that it is processing the documentary requirements of over 100,000 applicants for admission to the university.

The university appealed to the public to wait for the results of the UP College Admission for Academic Year 2022-2023.

“The Office will issue an update on the applications as soon as possible,” the school’s Office of Administration said.

For two consecutive years, UP suspended the UPCAT because of the Covid19 pandemic.

Without an admission exam, students are assessed based on their high school performance.

“In the absence of a college admission test, a composite of the final grades in Grades 8, 9, 10 and 11 shall be the basis to determine the UPG,” the school said.

Meanwhile, he university may ask for additional requirements for specific degree programs for admission if deemed necessary.

To implement the policy of democratic access, the university will also consider socioeconomic and geographic factors in its admission process.
