UP LAW STUDENTS SHINE IN INT’L PRICE MEDIA LAW MOOT COURT TILT

LAW students from the University of the Philippines placed fifth overall in the International Rounds of the 2021-2022 Price Media Law Moot Court Competition held last June 6 to 10, 2022.

The team was composed of Amierielle Anne Bulan, Trishia Gail Fernandez, Luis Alfonso Manlangit, Pauline Samantha Sagayo and Bryan Thomas Santamaria.

Santamaria was recognized as the sixth Best Oralist in the preliminary rounds.

The team similarly finished with the Overall Best Memorials of the competition.

The students were mentored by Professor Michael Tui Jr. who served as coach, and Professor Rommel Casis, who served as faculty adviser.

UP Law represented the Asia-Pacific Region in the International Rounds, competing against 26 other teams from South Asia, Asia-Pacific, Southeast Europe, Northeast Europe, Middle East, Africa and the Americas.

Organized by the Bonavero Institute of Human Rights of Oxford University, the competition challenges students to engage in comparative research of legal standards at the national, regional and international levels, and to develop their arguments in written and oral forms on cutting-edge questions in media and ICT law.
