UNIVERSITY of the Philippines maintained its position as one of the top 500 universities in the world as per the rankings published by Times Higher Education, London.

The country’s premier state university remained in the 401-500 brackets following the rankings released last Sept. 2

De La Salle University also stayed in the 1001+ bracket, which included more than 1,500 higher education institutions across 93 countries and regions.

UP and DLSU were the only Philippine schools listed in this year’s World University Ranking 2021.

To make the list, universities are assessed based on performance indicators across four areas such as teaching, research, knowledge transfer, and international outlook.

Universities from the United Kingdom and United States dominated the top 10 of the rankings:

  3. Harvard University (US)
  4. California Institute of Technology (US)
  5. Massachusetts Institute of Technology (US)
  6. University of Cambridge (UK)
  7. University of California, Berkeley (US)
  8. Yale University (US)
  9. Princeton University (US)
  10. University of Chicago (US)
