UP ASIAN CENTER AND JAPAN FOUNDATION LAUNCH RESEARCH COMPETITION

THE UNIVERSITY of the Philippines Asian Center and the Japan Foundation Manila have launched the third Nationwide Japanese Studies Research Competition.

The contest aims to encourage Japan-related research among Filipino students.

Graduate students may submit any Japan-related research paper (except topics on natural sciences, medical sciences, and engineering) while undergraduate students may enter essays with the topic “Japan and Diversity in the Time of COVID”.

Students enrolled in Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science, or masteral or doctorate program in a Philippine university between 18 and 35 years old can join the competition.

The deadline of submission of entries is on January 31, 2021. Winners will receive the 2020 edition of Apple iPad.

Finalists will give a 15-minute public presentation of their research, via Zoom, during the competition proper.
