THE UNIVERSITY of Cagayan Valley has secured a grant from the Department of Health to conduct a research to assess the health behavior of residents of the province.

The school acquired the P966,400 grant through the Cagayan Valley Health Research and Development Consortium.

The research titled “Assessment of Health Literacy and Health Seeking Behavior of the Residents of Cagayan Province” aims to identify the behavior of residents in relation to mental health, substance abuse and sexual and reproductive health, among others.

“The study aims to assess the health related quality of life and health seeking behavior of the residents of Cagayan Province in relation to health literacy on selected priority areas,” the DoH office in Region 2 said.

“It will provide recommendations to DOH and Local Government Units to improve the quality of life and health status if the people in Cagayan Province,” it added.
