UE URGED TO REGISTER STUDENTS TO PHILHEATH

/ 14 January 2022

STUDENT groups at the University of the East urged the school administration to collectively register the learners for medical insurance.

The Commission on Higher Education and the Department of Health required students who will attend physical classes to have Philhealth or equivalent medical insurance.

The student councils emphasized that learners only need initial help from the university.

They also stressed that “organization and uniformity of registration” are needed to properly comply to the CHED-DOH guidelines.

Moreover, they were worried of the registration process in PhilHealth, which requires them to submit the requirements in person.

The student leaders inquired about the payment for insurance and its procedures.
