UE STUDENTS WANT MORE TIME TO PREPARE FOR COMPREHENSIVE EXAM

/ 20 May 2021

Business Administration students in the University of the East asked school officials to give them two more days to prepare for the comprehensive examination for incoming third year students taking up BS Accountancy.

The CB Student Council together with Beta Epsilon Sigma-Hiyas Ng Silangan Honors’ Society and Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants stressed that the additional two days would allow students to cover more topics in their review.

“This is to give more time for the students to prepare for an examination that will determine if they will be able to continue in the said program. Also, we have to take into consideration that the final exams will end on May 28, 2021, which will only give the students one week to prepare for the said comprehensive examination,” the groups said.

The students called for a dialogue with their college dean, associate dean, and ACLAT department chair to discuss the schedule of the examination released by the college’s Department of Accountancy, Business Law, and Taxation.

“The well-being of the students should never be compromised in pursuit of quality education. Two days extension on the preparation of the students for the OCE would mean a lot for a bright future that we are hardly shaping,” they said.
