UE OKAYS ASYNCHRONOUS CLASSES

/ 24 February 2022

THE UNIVERSITY of the East has finally granted the request of students to conduct asynchronous classes after examination week.

UE President Ester Garcia allowed one-day asynchronous session after the preliminary and midterm examinations.

“President Garcia agreed to having asynchronous sessions immediately after the examination period with the discussion with Registrar Vergara,” the Central Student Council wrote on Facebook.

Last week, the UE President said that the school will no longer grant academic breaks for the second semester of Academic Year 2021-2022.

Garcia said that the decision was due to the one-week delay in the opening of classes.
She explained that a 3-unit course will need at least 51 hours in accordance with the mandate of the Commission on Higher Education.

She added that the delay in the opening of classes also affected the salary of some school personnel.
