UE CALOOCAN JUNIOR DECLARED MOST OUTSTANDING CIVIL ENGINEERING STUDENT
A STUDENT from the University of the East-Caloocan was declared this year’s Most Outstanding Civil Engineering Student by the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers.
Fitzgerald Tañala, a third year student, edged out five finalists from different schools in the country.
He won a plaque of distinction and a P30,000 prize.
Tañala is an active member of the UE Caloocan Association of Civil Engineering Students and is the president of the UE College of Engineering-Caloocan Student Council.
The school said that he was a scholar under UE’s Integrated University Scholarship program for the second semester of SY 2018-2019 and the first semester of SY 2020-2021.
Tañala was mentored by Professor Eduardo Leron Jr., UE-Caloocan CE Department Chairman and Engineering Student Council Adviser Engr. Alexander Co, Professor John Rei Gomez, Dean of CE Victor Macam Jr. and the PICE North Metro Manila Chapter President Engr. Andres Macaalay Jr.
