TUP DECLARES ACADEMIC BREAK

/ 10 January 2022

TO HELP students and teachers amid the Covid19 threat, the Technological University of the Philippines will hold an academic consolidation week.

The ACW will allow students, faculty and staff afflicted with Covid and flu to recover. It will also give them enough days to take care of their loved ones at home and to catch-up on the class requirements.

Dr. Jesus Rodrigo F. Torres, university president, said the break will be from January 10 to 16.

TUP said that many students, faculty and staff have been experiencing flu-like symptoms recently.

The Office of the Student Regent welcomed the announcement but demanded a change in the ACW guidelines to ease the academic load of the students.

“The OSR believes that no student, nor any member of the TUP community, should be left behind, especially amid these extremely difficult times. We pray for the fast healing of those who are sick and the continued safety and protection for all of us. And encouraging everyone to stay at home, observe health protocols, and follow IATF guidelines strictly,” it said.
