THE TECHNOLOGICAL Institute of the Philippines conducted a three-week virtual student exchange program with Indonesia’s Universitas Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Yogyakarta.

The two institutions each sent eight Information Technology Education students to undergo the educational and cultural exchange for two months.

The exchange program with UPNVY is the first of several initiatives that TIP organized under the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization Technical and Vocational Education and Training program .

“The objective is to provide these students with international educational experiences to improve their global competitiveness,” Jun Reyes, QC CS/IT Program chairman, said.

The Indonesian students virtually joined TIP ITE students in their Applications Development, Emerging Technologies, and Business Data Visualization classes.

Technical webinars on mobile development, game development, and the Philippine startup ecosystem were offered as well to the UPNVY students.

For their cultural immersion, a virtual presentation was put together to showcase the ways of life of Indonesia and the Philippines.
