STUDENTS of the Cagayan State University Andrews Campus and the Colegio de Sta. Rita de San Carlos expressed their gratitude to the schools for allowing students to wear uniforms that suit their gender identity and expression.

“Thank you Cagayan State University Andrews Campus for allowing me to wear uniform in accordance to my gender identity and expression and the first transwoman to do so, I am eternally grateful. This is one small step for woman. One giant leap for woman-kind,” Ringo Antonio, an Education student, said.

Meanwhile, Noel Glenn Diamante, a CSR in Business Administration major in Financial Management student, said that wearing a female uniform feels like “waving our flag” and “crown.”

“Thank you for the huge support, love and acceptance! You are also a way for me to develop well my spiritual health,” Diamante said.

“Wearing this female uniform is like waving our flag and a crown as well, I would wear this with Dedication, Love and Respect! Making my duties and responsibilities to inspire and touch others’ lives,” the student added.

Meanwhile, former National Schools Press Conference mentor and first Miss Trans Global Mela Habijan lauded the schools as they champion inclusion to their respective campuses.

“I can’t wait for the Philippines to fully acknowledge, embrace, and respects trans and non-binary identities. We are slowly getting there,” she said.
