/ 17 September 2020

STI students taking Bachelor of Science in Information Technology and Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering got 100% passing rate on Huawei’s Learn ON program.

The program, launched in different countries, is an online course that tackles trends, virtualization, and features network and storage basics for cloud computing. It also allows students to access networks, storage and applications on the internet.

Thousands of students worldwide have benefited from the program that allowed them to continue their learning activities at home.

Some 39 4th year and 5th year students from STI joined the program, the most number of participants out of six schools.

The students gained access to Huawei’s online learning modules, videos and participated in mini-quizzes and mock exams.

“The students were chosen to railroad STI’s integration of Huawei’s learning content and in-demand ICT technologies for this coming school year 2020-2021,” STI said on its website.

STI’s Academic Research Group helped the students prepare for the certification exam while utilizing its very own eLearning Management System.

Beronika Peña, Research Head of STI’s Academic Research Group for IT and Engineering, said that STI will continue to integrate ICT technologies.

“An industry certification validates the skills and readiness of an individual to join the workforce. Hence, STI will continue integrating in-demand ICT technologies into its courseware materials to better prepare the students for future certifications,” Peña said.
